A potentially powerful lever of connecting research and practice is brokerage. In this paper, presented at the 2017 AERA Conference, the concept of brokerage in education is unpacked using preliminary qualitative data collected from researchers, practitioners, and intermediary organizations. This paper confirms the value of current frameworks for conceptualizing brokerage in education and raises a number of issues specifically in the context of the research-practice gap in education. To learn more about the characteristics of brokerage and those that emerged from the analysis that are currently not addressed in the existing frameworks, see the paper linked here.
